The Earth Is Breathing And So Are You
I am lucky enough to have easy access to a beautiful beach near my home in Southern California. During the pandemic, I took long walks on the empty beach almost every day and although I was lonely and anxious at the time like many of us were, the sound of the ocean breathing in and out was like a soothing balm.
This series is an ode to my home. Each piece is directly inspired by naturally occuring patterns in the sand formed by wind or water. Working on this series makes me reflect on the relationship between civilization and nature and is representative of my need for nature on a very personal level.
